Description

Floc & Vac is a specialized pool water treatment designed to rapidly clear heavy cloudiness by causing fine particles and microscopic debris to cluster together and drop to the bottom of the pool for easy vacuum removal. This type of product is ideal when your pool water remains muggy despite normal filtration or after heavy use, storms, or algae cleanup.

Directions

1. Balance your water first: Test and adjust pH to 7.2–7.6 and alkalinity to recommended levels before adding floc. This helps the product work at peak effectiveness.
2. Distribute the product: Pour Floc & Vac evenly across the pool surface, especially in areas of high cloudiness.
3. Run the pump (optional): Some flocculants circulate briefly (e.g., 1–2 hours) to disperse before settling; follow the specific instructions on your bottle.
4. Let it settle: Allow the pool to sit undisturbed for 12–24 hours so particles clump and fall to the bottom. During this time do not circulate water.
5. Vacuum to waste: After particles settle, connect your pool vacuum and set the filter system to “Waste” or bypass the filter altogether. Vacuum slowly so you don’t re-suspend settled debris.
6. Backwash and rebalance: Once vacuuming is done, backwash or clean your filter and then retest and rebalance your water before swimming resumes.

Dosage

• Standard cloudy water treatment: Use about 1.5 lb of powdered flocculant per 10,000 gallons of pool water (or follow the exact measurement on your product label).
• Severe cloudiness: You may need to treat in stages or increase dosage according to the manufacturer’s directions — always check label recommendations first.
• Important: Floc treatments often work better with sand filters and when vacuumed to waste. Cartridge filters can quickly clog if the floc enters them.
