Winterizing or Closing Your Pool

Closing Your Pool

The summer was a blast at Sunny’s Pools! We spent the summer enjoying it with our loyal customers and helping them have the best possible experience with pools and spas. It’s time to winterize your pool for the fall and winter season in Michigan. Most pool owners do pool closings after Labor Day, especially if you live in the northern states. Closing your pool for winter does not have to be a difficult process. We have a variety of products for pool closing that will make closing your pool a breeze.

What Do You Need for Closing Your Pool?

You might be wondering what you need to start closing your pool for the season. The first thing you need to know is that you should start the closing process a week before you close the pool. This will give you plenty of time to gather what you need and clean it up properly. After you deep clean the pool and manage the water level, you can start gathering your pool chemicals. Usually, you will need Alkaline test strips and other water tests to know where you are starting with. Then you should shock and chlorinate your pool. There are many pool chemicals to choose from in Sunny’s stock:

  • Pool Serum Total Maintenance
  • Baquacil Chlorine Free
  • Nature2
  • SeaKlear®
